Microstock Earnings Through October

October 31, 2016  •  3 Comments

My microstock earnings surpassed $1,000 for the month of October. This was the seventh month of 2016 in which earnings exceeded $1,000. The average monthly earnings are slightly over $1,000 so far this year as well.

This month was off to a very slow start. With just a couple of days to go in October, my monthly earnings were at the lowest level in more than two years. Then, earnings surged over the past two days!

Dreamstime had a particularly bad month. I'm not sure what caused that as my portfolio grew significantly with that agency over the past few months. I'm guessing that sales will rebound with Dreamstime in November.

Following is a summary of my monthly earnings to date:

My experiences in October broadly reflect your own: a poor October on Shutterstock turned around by a surge in the last 2 days of the month just getting me over the line to my best month on Shutterstock to date. My Dreamstime sales were also very weak, as was iStock. Looks like I need to bite the bullet and submit some more images to Fotolia again.

Sure...I started uploading images in 2010. In the beginning, I uploaded just a few hundred images. Over the years, my portfolio has grown significantly--especially in the last two years. At this time, I have a few hundred images on Big Stock and Fotolia. I have about 2,000 pictures on iStock and Dreamstime. And, I have about 5,000 photos on Shutterstock.
Hello, there!
Could you please share with us how large is your portfolio on each of the agencies and what year represents the inception?
Thanks in advance.
