I squeezed a photography road trip into November. The trip included stops in three southern cities--Louisville, Chattanooga and Savannah. I also stopped in Plains, Georgia where I was fortunate enough to see President Carter on consecutive days in his hometown!

This is a sample of images from my 32 day road trip from Chicago to California and back. This trip centered around the 21 Missions of California. To view photographs of those missions, please CLICK HERE.
However, this long road trip included more than the missions. I visited many places along the way--Des Moines, Denver, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, San Diego, Mono Lake, Bodie Ghost Town, Joshua Tree, and more. To view those photographs (sorted by category), please CLICK HERE.
This was the longest road trip I've ever taken. It also resulted in the most photographs that I've ever created from a trip. In the end, I processed 917 pictures! I often post entries about my photo shoots on my photography blog, so please check it out when you get a chance!
This collection houses my favorite 40 photographs from the Missions of California.
During my road trip, I visited all 21 of the California. I started at the northernmost mission in Sonoma (on July 25, 2016) and finished at the southernmost mission in San Diego (August 8, 2016).
