Bonavista was one of my favorite stops on my long road trip to Newfoundland. Everywhere you go in Bonavista, you see the name of John Cabot. Cabot was the explorer who sailed from England to Newfoundland (Bonavista) in 1497.
His ship, the Matthew, was an all wooden ship...and an exact replica resides in Bonavista. The replica also sailed from England to Bonavista.
