These photos are from an OYA 5th/6th grade girls' volleyball game in the Century Large Gym on October 30, 2008 in Orland Park, Illinois.

The conditions in the gym were very challening for photography. The light was dim (only 25% of the level of the lowest lighting I have ever tried to shoot in) and the overhead lamps were cycling through all sorts of colors (green, orange and red) every few seconds--which is why the colors are all over the board!

For several of these photos, I applied special effects during post processing (e.g., desaturating, adding grain, etc.). Not everyone likes such effects--but they were intentional.
