I was trying out the Z9's bird eye-detection autofocus the other day while photographing some parakeets at the Brookfield Zoo. It worked flawlessly.

These are tiny birds. They measure just 6 inches from head to tail and weigh only 1 ounce!

These parakeets are housed in a large free fly space. There are hundreds of them in there. Every few minutes, large numbers of the birds fly rapidly together in what appears to be a cloud. A few times several of them flew into the side of my head while I was taking photos. Quite the experience!
