White Sands is one of my favorite places. It's an otherworldly landscape. It can be challenging to capture photographs at White Sands. The park hours aren't ideal for the best light and you must walk into the dunes for a good distance to get away from all the footprints.
It can be a dangerous place as well. It's easy to get disoriented. The sand dunes seem endless and things begin to look the same in every direction. I stayed on the "trails"--which have guide posts. Getting away from the guide posts can be risky and people have died here after getting lost.
I will share some color photos in a separate collection.
