I've visited quite a few buildings over the years, and the Canadian Museum for Human Rights is one of the most extraordinary buildings I've seen. It's almost impossible to describe the interior...or to photograph the experience of being in the interior of the building effectively.
Walking through the museum is like undergoing a journey. You enter through the Great Hall and climb illuminated alabaster ramps from level to level. Eventually, you reach the Tower of Hope near the spire where you get a 360 degree view of the skyline.
The museum is immense. There are 15,000 tiles of alabaster along the ramps...making it the biggest project ever done with that material. The building itself cost just over $350 million at the time of construction.

Photography can be a challenge. Tripods are not permitted. The interior is quite dark and is also crowded with visitors.
