This road trip from Chicago to Death Valley covered 4,695 miles over 17 days and 11 states. The trip had its ups and downs. Half of my planned photo shoots in Death Valley were canceled due to flash floods destroying the roads. The Petrified Forest National Park was completely closed due to the government shutdown. My two days in Oklahoma City were canceled due to weather--rain and gusty winds.
