While in Valentine, Nebraska on May 27, 2026, I stopped by the Cherry County Fairgrounds to see if there was anything going on. Two high school girls (twin sisters) were practicing for an upcoming rodeo competition. A couple of the events they were practicing for in these photos were the pole bending and the goat tying events. It was refreshing to see them practicing hard while obviously having a lot of fun.
They told me that they were going to compete in a rodeo competition later that week in Crawford, Nebraska. I happened to be in Crawford that weekend (visiting Fort Robinson), so I went to the rodeo. The Crawford rodeo was massive, but I did see the girls again that day.
