This summer, I plan to continue my quest of visiting capital cities throughout the United States. This upcoming road trip covers 9 State Capitals--bringing my total to 48 capitals. Here's my preliminary itinerary:

Day 10: Boston, MA

Day 11: Boston, MA

Day 12: Boston, MA

Day 13: Concord, NH

Day 14: Augusta, ME

Day 15: Augusta, ME

Day 16: Acadia National Park, ME

Day 17: Acadia National Park, ME

Day 18: Acadia National Park, ME

Day 19: Montpelier, VT

Day 20: Montpelier, VT

Day 21: Cleveland, OH

Day 22: Cleveland, OH

Day 23: Orland Park, IL

I like to spend a couple of days in the cities. That way, I can visit more local attractions than just the Capitol building. As you can tell by the itinerary, I also plan to visit some "non-Capital" cities--such as Philadelphia and Cleveland. I've always wanted to photograph the Eastern State Penitentiary in Philadelphia and I've already been granted permission to photograph the interior of the Cleveland Public Library. I've also dedicated three days for landscape photography in Arcadia National Park, Maine.

This trip covers 23 days and just over 3,000 miles. Once I return, I will have visited all of the State Capitol buildings in the Lower 48 states!
