During my Texas trip, I visited the San Antonio Zoo. It was a pleasure shooting in the San Antonio Zoo because animals reside there that we don't have in our local zoo (the Brookfield Zoo outside of Chicago). These animals include the Emu and the Red-Flanked Duiker. Also, the cheetah exhibit is much more conducive to photography than the one in the Brookfield Zoo.

There was also a duck at the San Antonio Zoo that I couldn't identify:

Black-bellied whistling duckBlack-bellied whistling duck (Dendrocygna autumnalis) at the San Antonio Zoo at 3903 N St Mary's Street in San Antonio, Texas on January 8, 2014. Although this duck was photographed in the zoo, it's a wild duck that just happened to land in the zoo. Since I liked the portrait of this duck, I wanted to be able to identify it for captioning. So, I found a zookeeper, showed him a picture of the duck on the LCD panel on the back of my camera, and asked him if he could identify the duck for me. To my surprise, he said, "he not one of our's". Apparently, this duck, along with many others, just happened to land in the zoo. He's actually wild and will soon be leaving the zoo. It's a Black-Bellied Whistling Duck and is native to Texas.
